Unso-do Co. (Publisher):
Process of Printing Wood Engraving, Kyoto, 8vo (7 x 9 1/4 in - 17.5 x 23.8 cm), not dated but believed to be ca 1956, paper over cardboard boards, paste on title on front board, no text, accordion/fold-out style booklet with pages jointed at the outer edge, 28 pages total (covers and inside pages not counted). This book illustrates the color woodblock printing process using a Harunobu Suzuki image depicting two seated women, one of whom is beating cloth to give it a sheen.

The pages are not numbered but the 14 steps in the process of creating this woodblock print numbered. The inside front cover is blank, It is followed by the title page. The back of the tile page is step number 1. It only has text describing the designer and subject of the woodblock print. The page to the right is the black and white outline of the print (key block). One the pages that follow, the left page has the next woodblock impression applied and the page to the right shows the cumulative state of the print. The woodblock progresses from the outline/key block through the application of 13 succeeding woodblock impressions. In total the woodblock print is created by using 14 woodblock impressions (key block and 13 additional blocks).

The 14th woodblock impression is colorless embossing. The back of the final (completed) woodblock print is blank. The inside of the back cover has a paste on "Unso-Do Co." address label.
