Ogawa, K. (Kazumasa) (Collotypes):
Kokka, An Illustrated Monthly Journal of the Fine and Applied Arts of Japan and Other Eastern Countries, Volume XVIII, Number 208, September, 1907, Tokyo, The Kokka Publishing Company (Yazaemon-cho, Kyobashi-ku), folio (10 1/2 x 15 in - 26.5 x 38 cm), silver decorated paper wraps, pages 63~82 + 4 pages of ads, 6 full plate illustrations (2 color), 24 pp. The two color illustrations are tipped in chromo-xylograph (color woodblocks) and each is protected with a descriptive tissue guard. The 4 black and white plates are collotypes on medium stiff paper stock by K. Ogawa. The text pages are on the same medium stiff paper stock as the collotypes. The two test illustrations are approximately 1/3 a page each and halftone images.

Considered to be he oldest international art periodical from Japan, the magazine focused on the traditional Japanese and oriental art. The chromo-xylographs in the early years of publication are acknowledged as works of art of this fine woodblock printing technique. The company referred to it's monthly journal as "The Queen of Art Journals in the East." The collotypes are credited to Kazumasu Ogawa and topographical work is credited to the Tokyo Tsukiji Type Foundry.
