This appears to be the first consolidated ("Combined") book published. Sometimes found with an original slip case. The earlier editions of the Book I and II are found as single books. A three volume combined book has been reported as late as 1964. H.S.K. Yamaguchi was the managing director of the Fujiya Hotel in Hakone from ca 1907 until his death in 1944. He was the moving force in the compilation and publication of these books which were primarily intended for the enlightenment of the guests of the hotel.
