Kildare, 1876, 8vo, paper wraps, 4 plates, 130 pp. The exhibition contained 7 exhibits from the Ryukyu Islands. These included lacquer ware, cloth and paper. The Japanese exhibits probably were the first introduction of Okinawan bingata fabric to the United States. Pages 114-115 discuss Japanese gardening/horticulture and references "dwarf trees." An early discussion of the art of bonsai gardening as practiced in Japan.
