Pfoundes, C.:
Fu-So Mimi Bukuro. A Budget of Japanese Notes, Reprinted from the 'Japan Mail', Yokohama, Yokohama, Printed and Published at the "Japan Mail" Office, 1875, 12mo (5 3/8~5 1/2 x 7 1/2 in - 14 x 19.2 cm), brown cloth with leather spine and leather tipped corners, 184 pp. Reprints of 30+ articles previously published in the Japan Weekly Mail. Topics cover a wide range of subjects including superstitions, music, theatre, dress, swords and hara kiri. Found in hardbound and stiff wrap versions.

In the preface, Pfoundes characterizes this collection of articles as "...a portion of the fruits of the compiler's research and studying during a residence in this country already extending more than a decade." It appears from this comment that Pfoundes actually wrote these articles which were previously published in the Japan Weekly Mail.
