of complete lithograph

Perry arrived at St Helena on January 10, 1853. Napoleon was exiled to Longwood on St Helena and spent 5 years (not quite but close to) there before his death in of May, 1821. The crew visited the building/house where Napoleon was imprisoned in Longwood. This is a view of village of Longview. In his personal journal, Commodore Perry described the place of imprisonment as "...the miserable building in which that extraordinary man so long resided....". St Helena was under the control of the English East India Company at the time of Perry's visit as well as when Napoleon was held there.
